The Needles x ASICS EX89 is a collaboration with Needles, a fashion brand from Japan. The upper is made of smooth black leather and a black mesh tongue. Details referencing Needles have been added, such as the purple stitching and the embroidered butterfly on the heel. The Japanese fashion brand's name is also incorporated on the tongue tag. FF Blast technology is incorporated into the sole and heel, providing extra comfort. The midsole comes in a dark grey colour and is supported by a rubber sole in black, purple and light grey.

The Needles x ASICS EX89 also comes in the colour 'White'.
