The Nike Air Max Plus

Few sneakers are as iconic as the Nike Air Max Plus. Its distinctive design and innovative technology have captured the attention of everyone from sneakerheads to athletes to the casual wearer alike.
Debuting as part of the Air Max line in 1998, the model was created by Sean McDowell, and quickly became popular due to their unique look and advanced cushioning system.

The Design

It was a trip to Florida that inspired the design of the Nike Air Max Plus. Designer Sean McDowell took in the breathtaking views of palm trees and sunsets, and decided to incorporate them into the sneaker, resulting in its distinctive gradient colorways and wavy TPU overlays.
One of the standout features of the AM Plus is the visible Air cushioning, which provides the wearer with exemplary comfort and support.
With multiple Air units strategically placed in the midsole, and tuned Air Technology in the cushioning system to provide targeted support, the sneaker returns with excellent responsiveness and also provides superior impact protection.
Mesh overlays combined with synthetic materials ensure breathability in the sneaker, while also adding stability and durability during athletic activities.
The unique lacing system allows for a customised and snug fit, and provides essential additional support.
Despite going through numerous updates and iterations over the years to meet the ever-evolving demands of sneaker fans, the Air Max Plus remains a sleek, clean silhouette beloved by many.
Collaborations with multiple artists and designers have meant the sneaker has also gained cultural significance, and it's clear that the model will continue to shape the future of footwear as they continue to evolve.
