The Crocs Brand
Scott Seamans, Lyndon Hanson, and George Boedbecker Jr founded Crocs in Colorado in 2002.
Coming across a boat clog when sailing made from a new EVA foam material called Croslite, the trio quickly acquired the rights to the manufacturing process from the Canadian company Foam Creations and secured exclusive right to the technology.
The first prototype sold out immediately when it was revealed at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and the brand then launched ‘the Beach’, the first Croc model, which is now known as Crocs Classics.
The moulded, non-slip and wipe-clean design of Crocs led to them becoming very popular amongst people who worked on their feet for hours, like nurses and kitchen workers.
Comfortable, breathable, and easy to clean, every Croc clog features thirteen holes in the top and sides. Crocs also purchased the Jibbitz company in 2006, which are small accessories that can snap into these holes.
Love them or hate them, Crocs are here to stay, with over 100 different styles for women, men and children.
