Introducing the New Balance 1906R
First released in 2009, the New Balance 1906 was a performance-driven running shoe that honored the brand’s founding year. Designed for serious runners, it incorporated advanced technologies such as ABZORB and N-ERGY cushioning for impact protection and stability, paired with a breathable mesh and synthetic upper reinforced by TPU overlays.
In 2022, New Balance brought the model back as the 1906R (Remastered), combining the original upper with the modern NB860v2 sole unit to better suit lifestyle wear. This relaunch marked the transition from a pure performance sneaker to a fashion-forward everyday option.
The current 1906 family has since expanded with variations like the 1906L (Loafer), 1906W (Women’s), and 1906U (Utility), each offering its own functional or stylistic twist.
