Coming together to form a dynamic alliance, nu-metal band KoRn and the Three-Stripes present the KoRn x adidas Originals Collection. Featuring an alternative sneaker and apparel range doused in an angsty edge, the capsule celebrates the past, present and future of the band’s influence, evident throughout generations.
Now, you may be wondering how the likelihood of this pairing came to be. Despite adidas’ diverse offering of collaborative partners, an alternative metal band isn’t something that wouldn’t necessarily be naturally associated. However, if you’re a fan of KoRn, you’ll be very aware of frontman Jonathan Davis’ affiliation with the sportswear giant, famously boasting a distinctive purple sequinned adidas trackie on stage. Creating a ripple effect, this bold outfit choice helped to alter the stereotypical perception of leather and denim fashioning within the nu-metal subculture. Who knew that a bedazzled tracksuit would make such big moves. We love to see it!
The collaboration utilises two nostalgic models – the Supermodified and Campus 00s. The adidas Supermodified boasts a sleek colour combination of white and black, for versatile styling all year round. The leather upper, chunky laces, and a protective rubber shell toe provide a retro steeze, paying homage to the band’s 90s debut. KoRn branding dominates the tongue, while the custom insoles feature the artwork from the band’s “Life Is Peachy” album.
Landing in an opposing palette, the adidas Campus 00s also adopts a primarily black exterior, adorned with white detailing. Composed of a dark suede upper crafted, the contrasting Three Stripes delivers a sleek leather finish. This iconic collaboration is engraved into our minds with handwritten branding, almost as if drawn by KoRn themselves. Featuring a guitar-pick-inspired hangtag to finish off the kicks, both offerings arrive with lace options of black, white and purple.
The KoRn x adidas Originals Collection lands TOMORROW (29TH OCT ’23) via ADIDAS & SELECTED STOCKISTS. Stay locked to our socials @thedropdate for the latest sneaker news & updates.
