Gotta Catch ’Em All: Pokémon and adidas Celebrate 30th Anniversary with Massive Sneaker Collection

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, adidas Originals and The Pokémon Company are teaming up for a massive collaborative capsule. Following some leaks last year, 2025, detailed images of an extensive collection slated to drop in September 2026 have now surfaced, featuring up to 12 different sneaker models.

Here is what we know...

A Closer Look at the adidas x Pokémon Collection 2026…

We currently have the best detailed look at these three styles:

Charizard takes over the Superstar, Pikachu appears on the Pro Model, and Gengar gives the XLG 2.0 a new look.

• adidas Superstar Vintage 'Charizard'

• adidas Adistar XLG 2.0 'Gengar'

Rather than relying on basic printed logos, the Three Stripes brand has opted for rich materials, character-inspired textures, and 3D design details across popular silhouettes.

The classic adidas Superstar takes on Charizard for example in an orange reptile-skin texture, complete with detachable dragon wings across the eyelets and a cream-white shell toe.

Meanwhile, Pikachu takes over the Mid Model in a vibrant yellow pony-hair finish, featuring a Pokéball dubrae, branded Three Stripes, and bespoke heel patches.

The Ghost-type Gengar inspires a chunky Adistar XLG 2.0 where its eyes replace the traditional Three Stripes on the lateral side and its signature white grin sits on the toe box.

And there is more...

The full adidas and Pokémon collection comprises even more models. Legendary Pokémon also secure their own dedicated models, with Mewtwo appearing across the Samba OG and ZX 8000 in delicate lavender hues, and Rayquaza taking on the Adistar Control 5 in a dragon-inspired execution.

We can expect the following sneakers, amongst others:

Beyond the striking uppers, the theme extends to every finer detail. Each pair features Pokéball lace dubraes, character-specific tongue tags, and custom insoles representing entire evolutionary lines. The collection offers a balanced blend of gaming nostalgia and modern streetwear aesthetic.

One thing is for sure: all designs have been created with great attention to detail and represent our heroes in a special way.

How about the Drop Date?

The adidas x Pokémon collection is expected to launch in the autumn of 2026 as part of the Fall/Holiday lineup. The collection will feature full family sizing for both adults and kids. The drop will be available via adidas and select stockists.
