The clocks have gone back, the heating's on and the summer trainers are heading to the back of the wardrobe. Yep, autumn is properly here.

And this season, the vibe is pretty clear: warm browns, soft suede, a bit of tartan and outerwear you actually want to wear. The good news? PUMA's Autumn Edit ticks almost every box. We've rounded up the biggest trends in the UK right now and how to nail them with PUMA.

A Bit of Autumn Inspiration…

Need a starting point? This 'Chocolate Fondue' Speedcat from our feed pretty much sums up the whole season in one pair:

The Autumn Trends Taking Over the UK Right Now…

Brown Is the New Black

If there's one colour you'll see everywhere this autumn, it's brown. Not just one shade, either. Think chocolate, espresso, tobacco, caramel and warm tan. Style guides are calling it the colour to focus on for autumn/winter 2026, especially on suede trainers.

PUMA has clearly got the memo. Just look at the colourway names in its Autumn Edit: 'Chocolate Fondue', 'Haute Coffee', 'Kona Brown', 'Chai Latte', 'Cashew'. Honestly, it reads more like a coffee shop menu than a trainer drop. We're not complaining.

Why does brown work so well? It does everything black does, but feels warmer and less harsh. Wear it head to toe in different shades, or pair it with navy, cream, grey or dark denim.

Suede Season Is Officially Here

Brown and suede go together like tea and biscuits. Soft, matte and a little bit retro, suede gives a simple trainer that cosy, textured feel that autumn is all about.

That's good news for PUMA, because the Suede has been doing its thing since 1968. This season you'll find it in all sorts of versions, from the classic low-top to fuzzier, chunkier and even hiking-inspired takes. More on those below.

Quick tip from us: suede and British rain aren't best mates. Give your pair a spray with a suede protector before you take them out, and you'll thank us in November.

Low-Profile Trainers Are Still Winning

Slim, low and sleek trainers aren't going anywhere. The Speedcat has been one of the faces of that trend, and for autumn it's simply switching to darker, earthier colours.

The Speedcat Croco in 'Chocolate Fondue' is a great example. Brown suede, a croc-effect leather Formstrip and a dark sole. It's a little bit glossy, a little bit fuzzy and goes with basically any autumn fit.

Croc Textures Add a Bit of Shine

Speaking of croc, mixed textures are big this season. A touch of glossy leather or croc-effect detailing against matte suede makes a trainer look more grown-up without going over the top. PUMA has the effect on the Speedcat and even on its ballet-inspired Speedcat Ballet Nova.

Tartan's Back, and It's Very British

Tartan pops up every autumn, but this year it feels fresher. Rather than the classic school-skirt look, it's turning up on sportswear. PUMA's T7 line has gone all in with tartan track jackets, track pants, a pleated midi skirt and even a knitted cardigan. Pair a tartan piece with brown trainers and plain basics, and let the pattern do the talking.

Outerwear: Bombers, Puffers and Track Jackets

Now for the jackets. Bombers are having a moment again, with fashion editors pointing to shorter, rounder and puffier shapes in warm shades like caramel, chocolate and tobacco. Leather and suede versions are the ones to look out for.

Not a bomber person? Puffers are the other big winner, and once again, brown is the colour. Add a retro track jacket as your in-between layer for those mild-ish days, and you're sorted.

Cosy Knits, Wide Trousers and Earthy Accents

Underneath, it's all about comfort. Think chunky knits, rugby and polo sweatshirts, corduroy and wide or relaxed trousers that sit nicely over a low-profile trainer.

Want a pop of colour? Olive, deep green and berry tones work brilliantly next to all that brown. PUMA has the Speedcat OG in 'Dark Olive' and a tartan cardigan in 'Garnet Glow' if you fancy something bolder.
