The Nike Air Rift has been everywhere this year, but this burgundy pony hair pair might be our favourite take yet. It's officially called Mystic Dates/Black, and if you're after one autumn shoe that does all the talking, this is it.
A Closer Look at the Nike Air Rift 'Mystic Dates' Pony Hair...
So, What Are We Looking At?
The classic split-toe Air Rift, just a lot fluffier. Nike mixes pony hair with leather and textiles on the upper, so the toe box and side panels get that soft, glossy pile, while smooth burgundy leather frames the opening.
The hook-and-loop strap carries a tonal Swoosh, and the whole thing sits on a matching burgundy sole. Tonal from top to bottom, and properly rich-looking up close.
How Did We Style It?
We went full Nike Sportswear. A black zip-up hoodie up top, burgundy wide-leg trousers with a black side panel underneath, and the Rifts peeking out at the hem.
Matching the trousers to the shoe is the trick here. It stretches the burgundy all the way down, so the pony hair becomes the finishing touch rather than a shock. Burgundy might just be the colour this autumn, and this is the easiest way to wear it.

Is It Part of the Pony Hair Pack?
Not officially. Nike's Air Rift 'Pony Hair' pack landed this autumn in Black/Cool Grey, Dark Driftwood/Black and Old Royal/Black. The Mystic Dates pair shares the same IO4884 style code and pony hair build, but it's listed on its own on Nike UK.
How about the Drop Date?
Good news, it's already out. The Nike Air Rift in Mystic Dates/Black (IO4884-600) is available now in women's sizes for £119.99 at Nike.
