JJJJound and ASICS are teaming up again, and it looks like we’re in for a treat this AUTUMN 2024.
Following the hype from their GEL-Kayano 14s back in 2022, the duo just dropped a sneak peek of their new GT-2160 designs. This latest drop looks set to further cement ASICS’ position as a key player in the resurgent early 2000s runner trend, and we’re here for it.
JJJJound has always kept it understated, and this time is certainly no different. The new GT-2160s arrives in two sleek colourways – a clean titanium white, and a moody all-black version. Sporting a breathable, lightweight feel, both kicks showcase a wide mesh upper. The white version throws in some neon accents, giving it a pop of energy, while the black pair opts for a classic, minimalist vibe with reflective overlays.
But it’s the details that truly set these kicks apart. The carbon fibre overlays not only elevate the look but also add a performance-oriented touch, making these sneakers feel premium without doing too much.
While ASICS has been busy releasing collaborations with the likes of Above the Clouds and Kiko Kostadinov, this partnership feels particularly exciting given JJJJound’s knack for tasteful upgrades. The GT-2160 is a noticeable step forward from the chunkier GEL-Kayano, featuring a more streamlined silhouette and moulded vertical lines on the midsoles that are definitely easier on the eye.
Although the exact release details are still under wraps, make sure you keep an eye on The Drop Date Release Calendar for the latest updates!
