thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 Brown | 1/3 Fresh Colourways

We present to you the thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 Brown,  a streetwear-esque remodelling of the iconic basketball silhouette that made its mark back in the 80’s. Collaboration is nothing new for the Korean menswear brand and New Balance, having reimagined the NB 997, 2002R and 1906R. It goes without saying that 2023 has been a strong year for New Balance partnerships. With the likes of Salehe Bembury, Action Bronson and Aime Leon Dore joining the label, we’re gassed for what’s next.

After anticipating the release from teasers floating around the net, we finally have confirmation of the collaborative 550’s arrival. The silhouette will flaunt three core colourways, with the “Brown” palette landing first in all its glory. Boasting a rural personality through an entirely canvas-crafted upper, this 550 is flooded in dark chocolate and black hues.

Cracked leather textile takes over the “N” emblem, whilst gold eyelets help to further fulfil the rustically utilitarian mood. Black detailing is carried into the tongue and inner lining, as well as collaborative branding that reminds us who to thank for this elegantly simple silhouette. Underfoot, a blacked-out rubber tread grounds the iteration, concluding this innovative blend of retro streetwear aesthetics and solid sneaker composition.

The thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 Brown is expected to release during the latter half of 2023, via NEW BALANCE, THISISNEVERTHAT & SELECTED RETAILERS. While you wait for the drop, you can shop the latest New Balance 550 by clicking here
