Nike Air Pegasus 89 Tech – Available Now

The NIKE AIR PEGASUS 89 TECH is a 21st Century update for the classic silhouette, complete with additional reinforcements for winter.

While Nike stays close to the traditional design, modernizing elements have been added, such as a neoprene inner bootie, an all-weather coated ripstop nylon upper, and a plastic heel sleeve, which covers the heel area and reaches top two lace loops – replacing the more traditional heel paneling. We’ve seen some women’s versions of the Tech on the market, but this first men’s effort is released in a deep autumnal Night Maroon colourway, including Ember Glow and light purple accents, as well as reflective detailing – handy if you’re planning on night running or some kind of after-dark cycling proficiency course, like the safe citizens we know you are. Lastly, the outsole has a kaleidoscopic and geometric patchwork of Night Maroon, Persian Violet, Ember Glow and white. That’ll look great if you’re one of those cocky fellows who likes to put his feet up on the desk.

We may be showing our age but for The Drop Date crew, anything associated with the late ’80s – Golden Era hip hop, rave culture, footballers’ mullets – gets us misty-eyed with nostalgia, so this resurrection of the Air Pegasus ’89 has given us a little spring in our step this autumn morning.
