The Bad Bunny x Lionel Messi adidas Collab is Officially Announced!

UPDATE 22/10/2024: adidas Originals has officially revealed the stunning images of the collaboration between Bad Bunny and Lionel Messi. As previously announced, we’ll be seeing two fantastic pairs: the adidas Gazelle Indoor and the F50 football boots.

What sets this collaboration apart is the deep respect these two superstars have for one another. Bad Bunny has expressed how much he admires Messi, highlighting that working with him is a dream come true. He draws a parallel between Messi’s love for his country and sport and his own passion for music and Puerto Rico.

On the flip side, Messi has mentioned how integral music is to his life, with Bad Bunny being a constant presence on his playlist. It’s evident that they both inspire each other, and that connection shines through in their collaboration.

The inspiration behind these designs has also been unveiled, showcasing elements that truly reflect Messi’s legacy and Bad Bunny’s cultural influence. For instance, the number 10 is cleverly incorporated into the heel of the Gazelle, a subtle nod to Messi’s iconic jersey number. Additionally, the gold accents pay tribute to Messi’s achievements as one of the greatest footballers. Lastly, the blue details on both sneakers honour the colours of the Argentinian flag.

Now, this isn’t Bad Bunny’s first rodeo with the Gazelle Indoor. We’ve already seen his ‘White’ and ‘San Juan’ editions, and this upcoming design gives a nod to the latter release with those eye-catching blue accents on the tongue, insoles, and side panels. For all the footie fans, adidas is also dropping an F50 cleat inspired by the Gazelle, perfect for rocking it on the pitch.

The Gazelle Indoor flaunts a cool cardboard brown and cream colourway, and we’re loving the bold red lettering that spells out ‘Benito’ and ‘Leo’ on the classic adidas stripes – a cheeky nod to our two faves! Featuring Bad Bunny’s signature warped T-toe, along with Messi’s influence, the design swaps out the typical suede for some top-notch leather. And those jagged leather strips on the heel? A nod to the classic Three Stripes that’s just spot on.
