If you rate New Balance like we do, you will have definitely heard about the Aminé x New Balance 610T. First launching on 22nd August, the Boston-based retailer has decided to treat us with another drop, so you can go bananas with this fun iteration. 

Following his brand partnership with NB last year as well as a collaborative album with legendary producer Kaytranada, it’s no surprise that multi-hyphenate Aminé has been killing the game. Initially teasing the shoe in a cryptic Instagram post back in May, fans of the rapper likely knew that the collab would be far from basic. At a first glance, sure, the funky take on the New Balance 610T feels lighthearted and radiant, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. The banana-inspired iteration honours Aminé’s journey from growing up in Portland to global fame. Despite the humble backstory, these kicks are far from modest. But hey, everyone deserves to stunt now and again. 

“The idea of bananas becoming my bat signal came from struggle and I would always draw the logo to remind me of my journey. The bananas represent my come up,” says Aminé. And we can assure you, he did not hold back with the banana references in this model. Even if you’re not a fan of the fruit, we’re sure you’ll find this shoe visually ap-peeling. Sorry, we couldn’t help it. 

The silhouette flaunts a yellow and brown exterior, composed of various design features that make it unique. Golden yellow and chocolate patterning elevates the model from the get-go. What better base for creating the perfect playground for creativity? If the mesh base didn’t catch your eye, then the patent brown leather overlays certainly will – solidifying the dynamic structure. Additionally, eye-catching iridescent panels dance around the toe box, heel moles and quarter panels, keeping things fun and fresh. Our favourite part or the shoe has to be the banana-fied snow globe badge that sits proudly on the collar. What’s not to love about some extra attention to detail?
