Easy as aZX: the adidas ZX 1000 C Heralds the Return of the A-ZX Campaign

This retro release of the ADIDAS ZX 1000 C heralds the long-rumoured return of 2008’s aZX campaign, which saw 26 partners from around the globe put their own spin on selected ZX icons from the adidas archives.

The adidas aZX series remains a high point in recent footwear history, resulting in 26 distinct ZX models hitting the streets and reinvigorating one of the most-loved lines from the adidas history books. Returning once again this year, adidas are working with retail and creative partners to reimagine silhouettes that fall under the xxxx/thousand series models. Using a periodic table theme to help categorise the releases, the first of these drops is the letter ‘R’ – which stands for ‘retro’ – and involves a reissue of the original ZX 1000 C colourway. Layers of synthetic mesh and premium suede follow the original 1990 release almost perfectly, adding some vanilla dye to the midsoles for an authentic-looking vintage aesthetic.
