adidas Consortium x Sneakers76 EQT Guidance 93 – Release Info

For the ADIDAS CONSORTIUM x SNEAKERS76 EQT GUIDANCE 93, the crew at Sneakers76 have taken a classic runner from the adidas archive and reworked it to honour their south Italian heritage.

First up, a quick history lesson will put you in the picture on what could be one of the freshest EQT releases we’ve seen so far. The City of Taranto was built by the Spartans on the coast of Southern Italy. Greek mythology has it that Taras, son of Poseidon, was shipwrecked off the coast before being rescued by a dolphin, and went on to first found the city. Together, adidas Consortium and Taranto-natives Sneakers76 present a stunning EQT Running Guidance 93 in a colorway inspired by the sea surrounding the city. Sneakers76 have been holding things down on the sneaker front since 2006 and their creation reflects their experience and attention to detail: let’s take a closer look at the shoe itself…

The aquatic green suede on the perforated toe section represents Taranto’s natural harbour – known to locals as the Small Sea – while the EQT’s mid-foot section represents the swing bridge, Ponte Girevole, which crosses the edge of the harbour. The grey is a similar tone to the modern bridge while the golden brown is a nod to the wooden structure which formerly stood in its place. This theme of new and old is continued on the heel where the adidas Equipment logo is stitched in silver on the left shoe and gold on the right. The eyecatching seafoam green on the rear of the shoe represents the Big Sea – the open ocean which Taranto overlooks. To complete the release in true style, the release comes packaged in a box styled on a volume of a bound encyclopedia.

The ADIDAS CONSORTIUM x SNEAKERS76 EQT GUIDANCE 93 releases first at Sneakers76 (both in-store and on Sneakers76.com) on SATURDAY 17 SEPTEMBER, with a global release following a week later on SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER.
