The 550 is one of the most popular models of New Balance. The model was originally released in 1989 as a basketball shoe. The New Balance 550 'White' (BB550WTG) consists of different shades of grey. This colour palette, in combination with the classic silhouette, gives this sneaker a sleek retro look. 
 
The upper consists mainly of smooth white leather, which contains perforation holes at the nose and around the middle panel. The perforated holes and mesh tongue provide a breathable effect. The pair also features various grey accents on the branding such as the 'N' on the centre panel, tongue label, heel tab and collar. The two different shades of grey on the outsole complete the sneaker.
