Introducing the Air Jordan 2
The Air Jordan 2 followed closely on the heels of the hugely successful Air Jordan 1, releasing in November 1986. Nike made a bold move by significantly changing the design despite the popularity of the first model.
Unlike its predecessor, the AJ2 embraced a more upscale aesthetic, crafted with a full-grain leather upper influenced by Italian luxury footwear. Notably, it abandoned the iconic Swoosh, a daring and often debated design decision.
Still, the sneaker maintained its performance edge with a full-length Air cushioning unit for reliable impact protection.
