Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 15 came out in 1999 and, according to Nike, drew on the X-15 fighter jet for its woven Kevlar aramid-fibre upper. The Black Pack version trades the classic woven panel on the side for a snakeskin-textured insert, while the sculpted outsole underneath is black. Around that insert, the upper, tongue and heel are cut from leather. Cushioning comes from Air Zoom, placed in both the heel and the forefoot.
