West NYC x Saucony Shadow 90 Saltwater – Release Info

As the name suggests, the WEST NYC X SAUCONY SHADOW 90 SALTWATER takes inspiration from the saltwater fishing experience.

Like all of the best collabs, the story comes through in the colours and materials – but it’s all about the details. The carbon fibre that adorns both the heel tab and SAUCONY logos on the sides are a nod to the materials used in modern fishing rods. The grip tape that features on the toe wrap and the heel gives the feel of the non-skid materials that can often be found on the deck of a boat. The grey on the upper takes its inspiration from the weathered wooden docks, whilst the pops of pink and purple have a dual meaning by representing not only the colours seen in the sky during a dawn fishing trip, but also the colourful lures used as bait. Rounding things off is the perforated white toebox, which ties in nicely with the white midsole that sits above a black and pink outsole. We’ve seen a trend of clean and simple colourways on collabs recently, but these could mark a return to more colourful creations with a distinct theme… which is great to see.
