As we all know, shoes come and go, trends go round in circles and styles interchange throughout the calendar year. Some things don’t change however, some things since their release remain an icon and will always be relevant and desired. One of those things, is the VANS OLD SKOOL.
VANS bring us four new colourways of this classic, all sat upon clean white midsoles. The first builds upon this by using a thick black suede across the upper. Using the same shade in leather for the branded stripe, VANS use a ripstop tiger camo print to contrast the suede.
The next colour-up removes the pin stripe along the top of the vulcanised midsole and keeps it all white. The upper is built using a black waxed canvas, which is tough enough to withstand some extra wear and tear. The detailing really sets this model apart, with some tasty leopard print lining peeking out at the collar.
Staying with the same leopard print lining, VANS flip the upper and use a taupe, (grey to me and you) coated twill material, which is a real hard wearing textile. Complete with the clean white sole, this colourway really is faultless.
The final makeup, slightly reminiscent of one of their California range, mixes suede and chambray for a smarter finish. A light blue oxford-style chambray is teamed with a royal blue suede, emphasising the crisp white leather VANS branding down the sides. All models include the new performance insoles, with the traditional ‘Off the Wall’ heel tab and waffle soles.
