Union LA Reimagines the Nike Field General⁠ SP for Spring 2024

Initially teased allllll the way back in August 2023, we finally have an official look at the Union LA x Nike Field General⁠ SP. 

Killing the game with dynamic joint releases for just under two decades, it’s safe to say that the Swoosh and streetwear label know how to deliver. From sneaker hits like the Air Jordan 4 ‘Off Noir’, to the Jordan 1 Retro High ‘Black Toe’, it’s no surprise that the alliance have cultivated a significant fan base of enthusiasts, eager to see what’s next. And now, there’s two all-new iterations on the scene, adopting the retro Nike Field General⁠ SP. Union’s take on the Field General flips the script on the silhouette, injecting a contemporary twist whilst honouring its OG design. Let’s take a closer look…

A Closer Look at the Union LA x Nike Field General SP⁠…

Shimmer (FQ9003-200) / Black (FQ9003-001)

Union’s artistic flair shines through the design adjustments thrown into the mix for these kicks. They’ve gone all out, piling on suede overlays to spice up the classic cuts, whilst saying goodbye to the OG’s nylon upper with a chunky netted mesh. If these dynamic kicks weren’t already exuding a unique flair, a ribbon pull does just the trick.

In its inaugural appearance, the colour scheme takes notes from the Neapolitan palette. Yes, it’s all about delicious hues of chocolate brown, beige and pink. The design doesn’t shy away from the bold; expressing splashes of hot pink that break up the canvas and bring a burst of energy. And, of course, Union’s trademark (aka the unmistakable UN/LA yellow tag), proudly stakes its claim at the midfoot, sealing the fusion of these two iconic brands. Looking towards the darker counterpart, a Black/Off Noir fusion floods the exterior, channelling the timeless vibe synonymous with Union x Nike collaborations.
