On 7th May 2024, during an exciting event, the newest iPad series stole the spotlight, wowing the crowd with its innovation and sleek design. But alongside the gadgetry, all eyes were on Apple’s CEO Tim Cook and his choice of footwear – a standout pair of Air Max 1 ’86 sneakers, showcasing the perfect blend of tech and style.
The Nike Air Max 1, custom-made for Cook, sported a crisp white upper with colourful speckles on the mudguard, giving off a vibe of modern chic. The iconic rainbow colours of Apple were proudly displayed on the Swoosh, with ‘Made On iPad’ cheekily emblazoned on the tongue, a nod to the event’s main attraction, the unveiling of the latest Apple iPad Pro.
Rounding off the sneaker was a gum rubber sole, symbolising the fusion of technology and style that both Apple and Nike are known for.
This collaboration marks a significant moment, as it’s the first-ever sneaker release from both Apple and Nike. Since their initial partnership back in 2006, which brought innovations like Nike+ performance chips in shoe soles and co-branded Apple Watches, both companies have been pushing boundaries at the intersection of tech and fashion.
Unfortunately, the ‘Made on iPad’ Nike Air Max ’86 is strictly for Tim Cook’s feet only and won’t be hitting store shelves. But for Apple enthusiasts, there’s still plenty to look forward to – the latest iPad series will be available starting 15th May 2024.
