Thundercat Launches SS24 Collection with Dover Street Market London

LA-born artist Thundercat debuts his latest creative venture – an exclusive SS24 capsule collection in collaboration with none other than Dover Street Market London. 

Globally appreciated as a multi-hyphenate creative, Stephen Bruner (aka Thundercat), is a grammy-award-winning artist. Collaborating with massive industry names like Kendrick Lamar and Eryka Badu throughout his career, he’s accumulated quite the following – and rightfully so! Delving in and out of a multitude of genres with his experimental artistry, Thundercat is not one to be bound by conventions, hence why this partnership with DSM is all that bit sweeter! 

Ready to fully transcend into the realm of fashion, the debut capsule at hand honours the artist’s Los Angeles upbringing: from Anime and fashion houses, to his beloved cat Tron. Of course, musical influence also plays an integral role on the collection, paying homage to Thundercat’s favourite music icons.   

“Growing up playing music around LA it was always stereotypical for a musician to wear a suit to look ‘respectable’ and I hated that so very very much… My heroes were the likes of Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and everything Japanese and Pharrell… I was always encouraged, and could see the importance of being yourself early on by them. In the family I come from, to be an individual – that is who we are. Individually together. That is what this collaboration represents. Individual, together.” – Thundercat

Landing for SS24, the stand-out of the capsule has to be the Kimono, produced in partnership with Japanese artisans Robe Japonica. As well as this cultural delicacy, there’s also varsity-esque cardigans, adorned with Thundercat’s signature iconography. Continuing on the nostalgic wave, the collaboration also expresses red and white football shirts, decorated with team badges, for a striking street style look. Rounding off the offering is a highly exclusive drop of holographic crew necks and oversized cotton shirts, crafted straight outta the City of Angels. Designed exclusively for DSM’s London Flagship store in low quantities of 250 and 170 pieces, you’ll have to be quick to cop the legacy.

The SS24 Thundercat Collection will arrive exclusively at DOVER STREET MARKET LONDON FLAGSHIP from TUESDAY 2ND APRIL 2024, as well as the DSML E-SHOP. Shop via the banner below…
