After an iconic debut within the Supreme Fall/Winter 2023 collection, we’ve got another tease of the Supreme x Nike Courtposite (x2!)
The heritage of the Nike Courtposite dates all the way back to 2002, when the Swoosh infamously blended Foamposite with a tennis shoe construction. Unsurprisingly, the OG release was greeted to an unimpressed response by tennis players (and their feet!). Although the Foamposite technology was pretty revolutionary for its time, the wears required to unlock its full potential was not ideal for the sport. Even Andre Agassi, Nike’s frontman for their 90s tennis apparel sector, refused to wear the shoes. Tough crowd, huh. However, we’re putting all of that behind us with this collaborative release. Arriving in the same original design as the OG (other than Supreme branding), we’ve got high hopes for this sneaker. Second time lucky… right?
Initially teased last month via an Instagram post from Nike’s own pro-tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, the Supreme x Nike Courtposite appeared. Gold and gleaming, in all of its glory. Naturally, the post got sneaker connoisseurs gassed about the potential collab, but we didn’t recieve confirmation from either contributors. Adding fuel to the fire, rapper Lil Yachty recently took to the gram to flex two more monochromatic colourways. From what we can see, the iterations flaunt a dash of red detailing within branded elements. The tongue proudly boasts the classic red supreme box logo, whilst the lateral heel adopts a miniature Swoosh.
As of right now, there is no confirmed release date for the Supreme x Nike Courtposite capsule. Stay locked to our socials @thedropdate so you don’t miss out, and check back for updated imagery as ‘n’ when we have it.
