As the year comes to an end, the sneaker heat of 2025 is emerging onto the scene, and next up to the stand is the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Year Of The Snake’.
Landing as part of the Swoosh’s efforts to celebrate Lunar New Year alongside iterations such as the Nike Mac Attack and Air Jordan 1 OG, this offering embodies the Chinese tradition through an eloquent design.
Beginning with a neutral dual-toned base of ‘Sail’ and ‘Parachute Beige’, the silhouette utilises refined colourblocking as the perfect canvas for all the detailed trimmings. Looking at the tongue segment, the lacing system begins with a golden rope-style lace, decorated with a gold snake-like dubrae. Unlike conventional AF1’s, the laces then change to a crisp white hue, allowing the quilted, swirly ‘Metallic Gold’ tongue to have its moment. If that wasn’t luxe enough, the tongue label then enters with a loud, red snakeskin persona, embossed with royal Nike branding. It’s a very extra tongue, but it works!
Moving towards the back of the shoe, the heel dons a distressed suede heel, emulating the twists and turns of a snake. Also honouring the reptile through red stitching on the Swoosh, it’s safe to say that the detail on these kicks are next level. Underfoot, the kicks are rounded off with a gold-toned outer, tying in with this very special pair of Air Force 1s.
