Hold tight SW9: the new SIZE? BRIXTON STORE marks a fresh new approach for the UK retailer, with a unique fit-out designed to reflect the location and a product selection tailored to the area.

Newly opened today, the latest size? store takes inspiration from Brixton market and the local surroundings to create something very different from your run-of-the-mill shoe store. The market theme dominates the store’s aesthetic: brightly coloured plastic crates are used for footwear displays, the back wall is plastered with posters for local music and film events, and brightly-coloured imagery by artist Felipe Pantone decorates the painted brickwork. The star-shaped neon price signs you’re used to seeing on fruit and veg stalls appear throughout the store, and even the shopping bags reference the familiar checkered PVC market bag. The SW9 postcode is incorporated into the branding, reflecting the deliberate choice of the Electric Avenue location instead of a bland shopping centre or identikit high street. And the local community involvement extends to the staff apparel, created in partnership with adidas and embellished with designs by a local artist.

The new SIZE?
