Saucony Originals x Wolverine Shadow Original – Release Info

Saucony and Wolverine partner up to deliver the SAUCONY ORIGINALS x WOLVERINE SHADOW ORIGINAL.

Two years after Saucony became a part of the Wolverine family, the sportswear brand and bootmaker have collaborated on a damn fine-looking shoe that combines the former’s silhouette, comfort and durability with the latter’s leather and quality craftsmanship: The Saucony Originals x Wolverine Shadow Original.

The collab, which we hope is the first of many now the two brands are fam, features the same Horween leather Wolverine has used in its famed 1000 Mile boot since 1914, applied to Saucony’s Shadow Orginal silhouette. The resulting shoe has a two-tone combo of soft chocolate brown and camel leather on the upper, and a maroon leather trim. Brown and white stitching give it that hand-crafted-by-a-crafty-cobbler look, lending the shoe the appearance of something that’s robust and built to last. An embossed leather tongue, and maroon sole and white outsole polish off the look in what is an exemplary effort from the brands’ first partnership.

The Drop Date Crew has been oohing and aahing over this, as it looks like the ideal trainer as we transition in autumn. And we’d love to see how the patina changes as the shoe gets worn in. But we will all have to be quick on the draw as the SAUCONY ORIGINALS x WOLVERINE SHADOW ORIGINAL will release in limited quantities on FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER.
