Parris Goebel x Nike Dunk Low | Barbiecore And So Much More

From choreographing industry veterans like Rihanna, Janet Jackson & Justin Bieber, New Zealand-born creative Parris Goebel is now turning the shoe game upside down with the Parris Goebel x Nike Dunk Low.

The multi-talented creative is known for her long, long (long) record of achievements, having founded The Palace Dance Studio and worked with the very best in the industry. Remember the viral RiRi Superbowl ‘23 moment? Goebel was the force behind it. Getting her flowers from a plethora of artists and audiences alike (not to mention a New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to dance), the sky has proved to be the limit for this global pioneer. Parris first partnered with Nike back in 2021, within a campaign that fused dance and sports through an expressive declaration. Now in 2023, the dance extraordinaire has been bestowed with her very own iteration of the Nike Dunk Low, giving us major barbiecore energy.

Flaunting a playful colour palette of glossy barbie pink overlays and a “Bronzine” leather base, this iteration is a perfect expression of Goebel’s creative efforts and authentically unapologetic style. The shiny clear jade Swoosh incorporates a vivid splash of colour into the mix, carried throughout the heel detailing and logo. 

The branding on these colourful kicks provides a driving edge in comparison to standard Dunk Low silhouettes, adorned with miniature gold Swoosh dubraes and upside down Nike typography on the tongue and spine. Moreover, insole branding swaps out a conventional Swoosh for Goebel’s own logo, fairly paying homage to the icon behind this collaboration.
