Commonly known as the TN (due to the Tuned Air system, which also found its way onto several other models), the original Air Max Plus quickly became a favourite on the streets. Admired and Adopted by many, the shoe became synonymous with various music scenes and subcultures, particularly in the UK. Look back through documentation of the UK garage or hip-hop scenes of the late 1990s and early 2000s and you’ll often see the Plus in all its glory.

Updating the Plus with Ultra technology had us intrigued: how do you streamline a bold design like this without losing its impact? There was no need to worry: this has to be one of the most successful rejuvenations to date. The new inner-sleeve features TPU overlays for a supportive, sock-like fit, whilst the additional design details (such as the heel tab and tongue loop) enhance the overall shape and feel of the original silhouette. For this initial drop, we’ve seen five colours hit the shelves – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for many more.
