The NIKE x MO’ WAX BLAZER HI is one of those collaborations that will have the older ‘heads salivating. Back before everyone and his dog linked up with a brand on a project, James Lavelle and members of the Mo’ Wax family had already created several highly respectable product partnerships – and they were excellent through and through (the Nike Dunk ‘Dunkle’ remains one of the most loved Dunk Hi releases, with good reason). Starting out as a music label, Mo’ Wax grew into a well-rounded creative outlet, with projects ranging from plaster statues (with Mark Gonzales) through to Kubrick vinyl figures, exhibition catalogues and much more. Everything came adorned in the most amazing artwork and packaging, courtesy of Ben Drury, Futura, Swifty, 3D and others. The label slowed down and the focus switched to the UNKLE music project, but Mo’ Wax remains a highlight in UK creative culture.
2014 has been the 21st anniversary of Mo’ Wax and what better way to commemorate this benchmark than with a special Nike project? The NIKE X MO’ WAX BUILD AND DESTROY COLLECTION features all sorts of good things, such as a lovely olive green baseball jacket, stylish tees and smart caps, but it’s the two NIKE BLAZERS that we’re looking at here. Coming in black or olive green, these really are worthy of the Mo’ Wax label. Deluxe suede and leather meets ballistic mesh and satin-styled inners in a perfect equation. The Blazer has had a few interesting colourways this year, but this is one of the best remixes we’ve seen to date.
The NIKE x MO’ WAX BLAZER HI drops on WEDNESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 2014 – and you can link to the full stockist list by clicking the banner below. Get involved!
