Joining forces to revolutionise warm-up and recovery routines, Nike and Hyperice are pushing boundaries with a collaborative vest and Hyperboot.
Both renowned for their athlete-centred innovations, the Swoosh, and American health tech company are bringing wearable functionality to life, intended to ensure athletes stay at the top of their game during both training sessions and competitions.
“Recovery is an important part of any athlete’s journey, but we’re hearing from athletes that this concept of ‘pre-covery’ is equally as important. The footwear and vest that we’ve developed with Hyperice help get the body ready for activity, whether you’re playing for a title or you’re on your feet a lot at work”, Tobie Hatfield, Senior Director Nike Athlete Innovation, says.
Kicking off with the boots (no pun intended), This high-top, wearable marvel integrates dual-air Normatec bladders with warming elements, ensuring even heat distribution across the upper. A game-changer for athletes seeking on-demand heat and dynamic air-compression massage for their feet and ankles, the technical blend penetrates deeply into muscle tissue, accelerating natural movement, performance, and recovery.
Enabled by the power of a battery pack situated within each shoe’s insole, Athletes can easily adjust both the compression and temperature of their footwear experience. Particularly ideal for those athletes that face frustrating injuries on one foot solely!
With three levels to choose from, the experience is truly what you make it, allowing athletes the power over their own healing.
When it comes to training, the weather can have a big impact on the way our body responds. But with the Nike x Hyperice vest, athletes are able to outsmart this element, utilising thermoelectric coolers that deliver instant heating, as well as lowering the temperature. Yep, lugging around ice packs or heating pads are officially a thing of the past, helping athletes fine-tune their body temperatures to their surroundings.
Delivering an automatic response with the help of thermal modules, the vest’s sensors intuitively track and adjust your body temperature. Internally, an air bladder and pressure sensor conform to your body’s contours, pressing the thermal modules inward. Not only boosting comfort but also optimising the effectiveness of the heating and chilling technology, this piece is essential for athletes across a multitude of sporting ventures.
