The NIKE X COMME DES GARCONS HOMME PLUS AIR SUNDER MAX continues CdG’s run of eclectic Swoosh collabs, this time with a relatively forgotten late ‘90s model. The Air Sunder Max’s sleek shape definitely lends itself to this partnership’s refined mash-up of high-end fashion sensibilities and sportswear, with a zipper closure only adding further to its catwalk credentials. The Nike Air Sunder Max dropped back in 1999, around the same time that the Alpha Project was unleashed: that era saw some very innovative and experimental designs escaping from the brand’s secretive Innovation Kitchen department. The Air Sunder Max is a rarely-seen creation from those times, with its tent-like upper section and zip fastening that makes it a guaranteed head-turner when spotted on foot. For this comeback drop, the Sunder has been transformed into a stripped-back neoprene and leather construction, packaged up in a CdG signature offering of tonal Black and White colourways and an amalgamation of the two.
