Nike SB Dunk Low Premium Orange Box – Release Info

The NIKE SB DUNK LOW PREMIUM ORANGE BOX heralds the return of the popular first offering from the Nike SB line, this time with a limited edition series inspired by the colours of those early SB shoe boxes. Other colourways to follow are Grey, Pink and Black.

Taking its cues from the old school shoe box, the shoe’s leather upper is a combination of beige and orange, including an embossed insignia that sits on the heel. The white swoosh, laces and midsole create a satisfying contrast to the orange/beige combo. And, yes, of course it comes encased in a retro Nike SB box. Even the sockliner is illustrated with vintage shoe boxes, underscoring what a special collection this is.

Back in the day, the Nike SB Dunk Low started life as a basketball sneaker (“Obviously!”, we hear you cry… hence the ‘dunk’), but by fattening the tongue, the collar and Zoom Air insoles, those clever folks in Beaverton, Oregon transformed it into a skate shoe, which made its debut in 2002 – the first offering from the vaunted SB line. And it also was the Swoosh’s first silhouette to really catch the eye of the skater crowd, despite its earlier efforts to crack the market.
