Nike Lavadome Ultra – Release Info

The NIKE LAVADOME ULTRA brings back one of our favourite hiking styles in a new format for 2016.

Chunky, yet sporty, the original Lava Dome brought off-roading capabilities to our feet without losing any style points. Before this point, hiking meant unflattering cleats or heavy-duty boots, neither of which looked particularly good or allowed for good ventilation. The Lava Dome marked Nike’s first foray into the outdoor category, utilising a tough construction in suede or leather which looked and performed well. A standalone model when it first released in 1981, later editions joined the ACG range, introducing the model to a new generation of fans almost a decade after the first release. This new edition renews the design for 2016, with lightweight Ultra tooling and a modified all-foam outsole. The upper stays true to the original, constructed in durable ballistic mesh and suede, and executed in OG-inspired colourways: Khaki Beige/Midnight Navy and Stone Grey/Safety Orange. An autumn essential, in our books!
