It’s been 30 years since Nike Air first hit the shelves, and there’s no sign of the bubble bursting any time soon. The Nike Air Vapormax takes the Swoosh’s trademark cushioning system to the next level with a sole that leaves you literally walking on air, offering a futuristic but supremely wearable new take on three decades of innovation. Initially launched with a high-profile Comme des Garçons collab earlier this year, the new silhouette has become a firm favourite since its mainline launch on Air Max Day, and the new Asphalt colourway seems set to inflate the Air hype even further. The breathable, adaptive Flyknit upper looks cleaner than ever in this mottled greyscale colourway, with darker charcoal tones merging into lighter greys at the toe, heel and Flywire cables. An iced-out sole unit complements the aesthetic perfectly while offering a phenomenal combination of comfort and support, and the whole package is rounded off beautifully with a light grey Swoosh.
