The NIKE AIR MAX GRAVITON is back, as Nike continues to unarchive an eclectic variety of models from its vaults. But is this the same design as its namesake from 2013 – or not?
First released back in 2013, the original Air Max Graviton looked more like a missing member of the ACG family than an Air Max design: if you look back to the 2013 shoe and this new release, any similarities are initially hard to spot. This new release appears to draw inspiration from the Tailwind 96, with similar panels and layering across the mesh and leather uppers, whilst its bulked-up shape fits in with 2019 trends and styles. White, University Red and Black is always going to be a winning colour scheme and with extensive use of mesh across the toebox and sides, it’s a well-ventilated piece of footwear for the summer months. Details include a red mini-Swoosh at the top of the tongue and on the off-side heel panel, with subtle 3M highlights. Perhaps we’ll learn a little more about this design as more colourways appear over the next few months…
