A Closer Look at the Nike Air Max 96 II Sail

The NIKE AIR MAX 96 II SAIL continues the retro run of an unsung mid-’90s Air Max model. Whilst the previous year’s Air Max 95 had set incredible new standards in innovative design (courtesy of Nike designer Sergio Lozano), this was no shoddy follow-up. 1996 saw two Air Max designs drop, and the return of the second model has been greeted warmly by those who recall the original release all those years ago. It’s a rock-solid shape, with clever layering and detailing across the entirety of the upper section, presented here in a simple Sail colouring.
