Nike turns the heat up for Cyber Monday with the Air Jordan 4 Retro KAWS in Black

Whilst we await the official unveiling of the Nike AIR JORDAN 4 RETRO x KAWS Black edition, rumours over the weekend have suggested that this one might be dropping on Cyber Monday. Let’s take a closer look at what’s destined to become one of 2017’s biggest releases…

Selecting the legendary Jordan IV and putting it down as a canvas for one of this generation’s most iconic artists is nothing short of amazing. This special release reminds us that whilst it was originally designed as a performance shoe, the Jordan IV is clearly at home as a lifestyle option as well. You could play ‘ball in these, but you’d be a brave soul indeed… As with the grey release back in March, the construction is once again top class from heel to toe, featuring smooth and hairy suedes throughout in a bold black colourway. Characteristics of the KAWS Companion character are stitched in a subtle all-over monogram-style print, which is featured again on the custom insoles. The glow-in-the-dark outsole features the self-congratulatory clapping hands that feature extensively throughout KAWS’s artwork. KAWS’s ‘XX’ logo (often used as the eyes on many of his pieces) replaces the traditional Jordan Brand Jumpman or Nike Air placement on the heel, with ‘X’-tipped aglets on the laces for a perfect finish. As you’d expect, all of this comes packaged supremely in a stylish custom shoebox. As with the grey edition, this really is a superior piece of footwear.
