New Balance WRPD Runner | Due To Hit The Ground Running

Debuting during this year’s Paris Fashion Week, the Boston-based powerhouse introduces us to the new New Balance WRPD Runner. 

Spotted within Japanese brand AURALEE’s Spring Summer 2024 runway, the WRPD Runner quickly caught the eyes of NB fans globally. Boasting an innovative identity of textural contrasts and warped waves, this model feels authentically contemporary for New Balance. It’s refreshing to see a switch up their usual ethos of modernising archival silhouettes, like the 9060 and 2002R. The shoe maintains a clean and streamlined appearance, expressing just how effective simplicity can be.

The first release of this dynamic drop arrives in a ‘Sea Salt’ hue, contrasting crisp white, off-white and beige hues. Branding takes the backseat within the WRPD Runner, focusing its energy on an enlarged black “N” branding engulfing the sidewalls. Furthermore, a distressed suede overlays a white breathable mesh, sat atop a chunky beige midsole. The sleek sneaker adorns a warped patterning within the underfoot.

It goes without saying that the shoe is visually great. Additionally, after taking a deep dive into the sneaker’s construction we discovered that it’ll feel even greater. The model is adorned with FuelCell technology, a nitrogen-infused foam intended to assist performance.
