Only available every five years since its Japanese debut in 1995, New Balance 1300JP3 is back out of hibernation for a limited time only. To celebrate the icon’s return, London-based sneaker store FOOTPATROL and New Balance hosted an intimate dinner at Japanese restaurant UCHI, Hackney.

Adhering to Japanese dining etiquette, diners were first presented with slippers to change into for a traditional dining experience. Following some mingling and stocking up on drinks, we were presented with an immersive range of delicious and aesthetically pleasing dishes – ranging from edamame and Tsukemono, to start to sushi and chicken karaage.

After tucking into mochi for dessert, the lucky guests were presented with their own pair of the 1300JP3s. A truly special addition to any New Balance fans collection, their smart grey colour scheme and slick shape embodies all that is great about New Balance. The latest edition retains the same magic as the original design; such as premium materials, unique PU and EVA ENCAP fused midsole for superior cushioning and a durable Vibram outsole. Move fast, as this won’t be back on the shelves until at least 2025…
