May 4th, the Star Wars x NANZUKA x adidas Superstar XLG Will Be With You

In light of Star Wars Day, May The 4th (Be With you), the Three-Stripes are debuting a very special adidas Superstar XLG in collaboration with NANZUKA. Featuring prints from Hiroki Tsukuda taken from contemporary art gallery, this themed iteration is a certified B&W masterpiece. 

Now, this isn’t the first time that we’ve seen the Germany-based label explore a playful venture. Previously collaborating with the likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons and The Grinch (to name but a few), adidas knows exactly how to produce a lighthearted sneaker. The intergalactic essence of Star Wars floods the Superstar XLG, whereby mechanical motifs intertwine with semi-translucent TPU bands. Honouring every Star Wars fan’s favourite robots, R2-D2 and C-3PO, the droids are proudly depicted across a synthetic upper. Bringing NANZUKA’s distinctive aesthetic to life, industrial sketches take shape within the background – reaffirming the mechanical feel. 

Boasting a beefier sole than the OG model, the Superstar XLG seamlessly retains the classic shell toe and black Trefoil heel, cementing the legacy of the shoe’s heritage. The perfect blend of artistic expression and solid craftsmanship – rep these kicks to be one with the Force.
