The Martine Rose x Nike Football Collection is just around the corner, so here’s all you need to know about the back-of-the-net collaboration.

From achieving the role of creative director at Clarks Originals, to stunning audiences with her culturally-derived SS24 collection – it’s pretty clear that Martine Rose is one to watch. Dominating the UK fashion scene with authentically subversive designs and an unmatched creative flair, it’s no surprise that Nike wanted in, especially after Rose had been giving the brand their flowers in her shows since 2018.

The duo’s debut collaborative endeavour, the Nike Shox MR4, went down a treat with both fashion connoisseurs and British grime subculture alike, painting an artistic commentary surrounding the cultural significance of the OG Nike Shox silhouette. Despite challenging back-and-forth between manufacturers over the logistics of the Nike Shox MR4’s most fundamental feature (the unconventional mule heel), the model was executed flawlessly, if we do say so ourselves!

Now conquering a different type of beast, the British-Jamaican designer takes on Nike’s football collection to give us an exploration of genderless apparel as well as nodding to female football players for inspiration. The partnership aims to combat gender stereotypes within sports, cultivating inspiration within football culture for the generations to come. The collection covers all bases for the day-to-day player, from casually travelling around the globe to pitch-ready attire. And of course, the Martine Rose x Nike Football Collection just wouldn’t feel complete without a second Nike Shox MR4 iteration, flaunting three flamboyantly-hued colourways inspired by football heritage.

The collaborative range has Martine Rose’s stamp beautifully ingrained into its DNA, brought to life through Nike’s solidarity. The collection sports everything from refined Nike trench coats, to tonally striped shirts adorned with Swoosh embroidery and custom Martine Rose crest badges. And as for accessories, the pair push a suave persona that features belts, Visor-inspired sunglasses, vibrant stockings and gloves.
