END x Saucony Grid 9000 White Noise – Release Info

The upcoming END X SAUCONY GRID 9000 WHITE NOISE pays homage to the good old days of analogue TV.

Before the introduction of digital television, white noise was a random pattern of static that would be displayed when a transmission signal couldn’t be obtained through the aerial. The random pattern that would interrupt the picture was visible as a random flicker of dots or snow and is the result of electronic noise accidentally picked up by the antenna. Since TV’s have moved into the digital realm, the white noise screen is something we still experience, but the random interference has been replaced by more precise patterns. It would seem that the team at END were feeling a bit nostalgic, as their latest collaboration pays homage to the days of WHITE NOISE.

The upper of the iconic GRID 9000 has been constructed in a mix of woven cotton, felt, wool and Ballistic nylon in varying tones of grey, with WHITE NOISE styled patterns throughout. Breaking up the grey panels are Bleached Aqua accents across the upper to add a bit of colour, as well as elements of comfort, which come in the form of the jersey mélange lining. A fresh white midsole adds some contrast down below, whilst a Bleached Aqua outsole ties in nicely with the upper. Finishing touches include 3M-reflective rope laces, WHITE NOISE patterned insoles and END branding to the lateral side panel. The picture quality of digital television is significantly better than analogue, but we can kind of understand why the team at END miss the good old days!

The END X SAUCONY GRID 9000 WHITE NOISE launches exclusively at END on Thursday 5 November.
