Clarks Originals Presents: SUNSET | Three Psychedelic Capsules

This Summer, Clarks Originals is taking us back to the golden age of the rave. Yes, we’re talking the UK in the early nineties, when sweaty dark rooms and pumping music was the epitome of freedom and self-expression. Blissfully depicted in a short film by renowned director Glenn Kitson, Sunset: A Clarks in Manchester Film delivers a glimpse back into the euphoria of the acid house scene. Paying homage to Sunset 102, a local Manchester-based radio station that Kitson grew up listening to, the project celebrates the essence of raving culture and community.

Providing an innovative take on a timeless favourite, the Swirl Collection is bursting with vitality whilst honouring Clarks as the streetstyle icon of the 80s and 90s. The ‘Blue/Lime’ Print bed boasts a wavy, trippy print, drawing inspiration from the graphic designs found on posters from the acid house rave scene. Boasting an equally eye-catching exterior, the ‘Pale/Lime’ iteration expresses premium pale lime suede uppers with thick grey laces. Both styles include a pale lime fob and a fob adorned with a ‘psychedelic’ wavy print.

Drawing inspiration from the summer solstice and the vibrant ‘Madchester’ music scene of the late 1980s, this season introduces the iconic Wallabee with a distinctive edge, featuring a Yin-Yang material effect upper. Earthy colour palettes offer versatility in styling, while the signature crepe sole ensures each step maintains the timeless essence of Clarks Originals DNA. Adding a touch of detail, distinctive logo fobs adorn each pair, including one embellished with an embroidered daisy evoking an instant summertime vibe.
