ASICS GEL-Lyte V Gore-Tex Pack – A First Look

The ASICS GEL-LYTE V GORE-TEX PACK gives one of our favourite models the Gore-Tex treatment just in time for winter.

Getting suited and booted in the autumn and winter months means preparing for lashings of rain and the rivers of mud that comes with it. Thankfully, the brands we all know and love are several steps ahead of us, thinking of how to keep our precious and delicate feet warm and powder dry. That usually means our favourite silhouettes are winterized with robust, weather resistant fabrics such as Gore-Tex, a waterproof and breathable fabric. As such, the GEL-Lyte V is coming out with two Gore-Tex colourways with both featuring black leather, brown suede and boot laces. Your two colour options will be leather in bright blue or red. ASICS reintroduced the GEL-Lyte V silhouette in 2013, with some choice colourways since then. These weatherproofed iterations are another worthy addition to the Japanese brand’s canon.

FACTOID ALERT: Gore-Tex is so effective as a breathable, porous fabric that it is often used in medical applications inside the body – actually allowing human tissue to grow through the material. Something to remember if you, like us, wear your favourite trainers so frequently you worry they might fuse with your skin.
