The adidas Originals x IRAK ZX 8000 Revisits the Iconic RMX EQT SPT Collaboration for the A-ZX Series

The ADIDAS ORIGINALS X IRAK ZX 8000 revisits the now-legendary RMX EQT SPT collaboration series from 2007: a particularly memorable project which remains to place high on many collectors’ wants lists.

If you know anything about the NYC street scene or have even a passing interest in graffiti, then you’ll more than likely be well aware of Kunle Martins (AKA Earsnot) and the infamous IRAK crew. Where most writers would work under the cover of darkness, this collection of artists, creatives and visual terrorists transformed the New York City scene during the late ’90s and on into the next decade, dominating the streets, nightlife, galleries, fashion brands and even retail spaces (their affiliation with Alife runs to the core). Back in late 2007, two colourways of the RMX EQT SPT dropped within days of each other, bridging the weeks between Christmas 2007 and New Year 2008. Almost totally unannounced, they appeared suddenly on the Alife website and disappeared almost as quickly. Now, for 2020’s new A-ZX Series, the RMX EQT’s two colourways are reapplied on a new ZX 8000 construction, with updated year tags, and utilising a new GORE-TEX application which will increase the release’s appeal even further.
