The ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X QUOTE X PETER O’TOOLE ZX 420 QUOTOOLE is a true collaboration, in the most organic sense of the term. After first meeting on the original Crooked Tongues forum back in 2005, heavyweight adidas collector Quote and respected illustrator Peter O’Toole joined forces on a special poster featuring a portion of Quote’s amazing adidas collection. As a brand who have always championed passion, adidas Originals got in touch to commission a book of illustrations and descriptions for Quote’s archive, ending with a visit to the official archive in Herzo and a chance to design their own shoe to accompany the book release.

The end result is the adidas Originals Consortium ZX 420 ‘Quotoole’, taking references from a pair of vintage adidas Denver from Quote’s trainer vaults. Using the more performance driven ZX model, the duo have applied the adidas Denver’s strong blue/claret colourway to the trainer adding special touches, such as an antiqued off-white sole unit and portrait labels to the rear tongue tab, along the way. It’s a great looking piece of footwear, guaranteed to be popular when it drops.
