For their next collaboration, adidas Consortium set their sights to the extreme north to join forces with famed Aberdeen sportswear retailer, Hanon. Working with the 3-stripes laden New York – a retro runner from the adidas archive – the Hanon team take inspiration from the erratic “3-seasons-in-a-day-weather” that they experience in Scotland with a contemporary “Dark Storm” spin on the ‘80s model. Retaining the classic ZX styling and mesh grill wrapped midsole that the New York is best known for, the collaborative effort works with a transitioning colour scheme that alludes to the dramatically changing weather rolling in from the Atlantic. Working with a light-to-dark fade upper constructed in a bespoke jacquard weave, the model is accentuated with off-white, light grey, and black suede overlays for a premium look and feel. A clean white midsole is sandwiched in the middle, with the model’s signature webbing mimicking the upper by transitioning from black to beige. Finally, the trademark Originals blue is then applied to the interior and rugged outsole as a nod to the shoe’s roots, along with dual-branded hits across the shoe.
