In 2023, there was a big change in the sneaker collaboration scene as the long-standing partnership between Nike and CLOT came to an end. This marked a significant shift, but it didn’t take long for Edison Chen to join forces with Nike’s major competitor, adidas Originals (controversial!). Their collaboration kicked off with the global release of the CLOT Superstar by Edison Chen, which made its debut during Shanghai Fashion Week.

A Closer Look at the CLOT x adidas Superstar ‘White’ (IH3132)…

The CLOT Superstar is a unique twist on the iconic adidas Superstar, which has been around since 1969. This collaboration reflects Chen’s artistic journey and his goal of blending Eastern and Western cultures. It’s a groundbreaking release that aims to push boundaries and challenge norms through its profound designs.

The sneaker itself is completely clad in white leather, maintaining the classic silhouette of the Superstar. The rubber toe cap, a signature feature of the Superstar, is replicated in leather through stitching to preserve its iconic look. The brown leather trim adds a touch of elegance and accentuates the unique ribbed sole. To complete the design, leather tassels adorn the lace closure on the tongue.

To complement the release of the CLOT Superstar, a captivating campaign was launched. The campaign features notable personalities such as Jung Woo, Chris Severn, Joice Wrice, Brent Faiyaz, and DPR Ian as the protagonists. They invite everyone into ‘The House of Edison Chen‘ and aim to emphasize the effortless elegance and cultural connectivity that this collaboration represents. With a diverse cast at its heart, the campaign celebrates the fusion of cultures and the beauty of cultural exchange.
