In 2021, the first images of the Travis Scott x Air Max 1 were shown during the SNKRS Day. Here, it became clear that the Houston rapper would not be coming out with just one colorway of the Air Max 1. The 'Baroque Brown' and the 'Saturn Gold' were the two colorways that Travis used to give the Air Max 1 a makeover. Both colorways were supposed to be released in 2021, but were postponed by Nike after the fiasco that took place at the Astroworld festival in November 2021. 

Featuring the familiar reversed Swoosh that is characteristic of Travis Scott's collabs, the 'Baroque Brown' combines different shades of brown. The upper comes in the colour 'Wheat' and is made of mesh. The overlays on the middle panel are made of leather and the brown mudguard is made of suede. The iconic model also features a number of mountaineering-inspired elements, such as the signature rope laces and patterned webbing. Red details on the laces and heel give the sneaker a striking twist. The yellowed sole gives the sneaker its retro look and another striking detail is the missing see-through Air Unit.
